Katie Eukel, Communications ManagerKatie was hired as Transit for Livable Communities’ first communications manager in June 2006 and manages strategic communications and media activities for the organization. Her expertise in issue framing, advocacy communications, and online organizing strategies has helped position Transit for Livable Communities as a national leader in connecting regular people to transportation decisionmaking. Before joining Transit for Livable Communities, Katie worked as a philanthropic communications consultant, providing strategic communications counsel to national foundations and nonprofit grantees. She also worked with PBS' The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer where she helped research and produce local, national, and international news pieces. Katie is a graduate of Macalester College with a B.A. in Communication & Media Studies and serves on the board of directors for Minnesota Women in Marketing and Communications. When she’s not completely obsessed with a new communications idea, she’s usually puttering around her kitchen, reading a book (usually on politics or technology), or dreaming of the day when the Central Corridor light rail transit line will run within walking distance of her apartment in downtown Saint Paul. Katie can be reached at 651-767-0298 x115 or KatieE@tlcminnesota.org.
