Lea Schuster, Executive DirectorLea Schuster is the Executive Director of Transit for Livable Communities. During her time at TLC, the organization worked successfully for the passage of the constitutional dedication of the motor vehicle sales tax to transit and roads and the new regional sales tax for transit; developed a region-wide grassroots community action network; founded and facilitated the Transit Partners Coalition; and was chosen to manage the $21.5 million Bike Walk Twin Cities initiative, a federal pilot program to increase bicycling and walking in Minneapolis and its neighboring communities. Schuster formerly served as Executive Director of the Minnesota Public Interest Research Group (MPIRG), was Assistant Director of the Sacramento AIDS Foundation, and worked for the Overseas Development Network to coordinate the national fundraiser to fight poverty and hunger, "Bike-Aid." Schuster also practiced labor and employment rights law, representing unions, employees, and non-profit entities throughout the Central Valley of California.
